The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), is a not for profit non-governmental organization established in July 1991 to serve and meet the demands of the international business community for a neutral, efficient and reliable dispute resolution institution in Asia. ELITE ASIA’S SPONSORSHIP: SIAC 2014 ARBITRATION TRAINING VIDEO AND ITS TRANSLATIONS

We at Elite Asia are glad to partake in the development and production of the SIAC 2014 Arbitration Training Video. Its official launch was also the highlight at the recent SIAC Congress 2014 Gala Dinner. Produced and directed by the award-winning Singaporean film director Eric Khoo, the video depicts the workings of SIAC as a leading international arbitral institution and showcases Singapore as a preferred venue for international arbitration. Additionally, it features many well-known names in international arbitration.

Having a duration of under three hours, the video is available with subtitles in the following languages:

     • English > Japanese

     • English > Korean

     • English > Chinese

     • English > Bahasa Indonesian

The SIAC Training Video in the above Asian languages will be launched in the 2nd half of 2014, and will be used to support its series of workshops in the above mentioned countries. This series of workshops aims to demystify international arbitration, and will be using a combination of SIAC's innovative mock arbitration training video and panel discussions, so as to provide a practical guide to all the key aspects of international arbitration.

Arbitrations are confidential, so the SIAC mock arbitration video has been designed to demonstrate the arbitral process and give an insight into the role of an arbitral institution. Panelists will share their views and expertise on the various stages of an arbitration, and offer both regional and global perspectives on current issues and hot topics in international arbitration. This session will be an unparelleled opportunity for in-house counsel, legal practioners and arbitrators to gain a broader and deeper understanding of international arbitration.
